 Shari Hoffman earned a BA in Music from the University of Miami. Concentrating on jazz vocal performance and pursuing studies in business administration, she completed her studies while actively performing with the Greater Miami Opera.
Hoffman relocated to New York following college to join the promotion team of Chrysalis Records, working with multi-platinum recording artists Sinead O’Connor, Jethro Tull and Billy Idol. Thereafter, she joined Impact/MCA Records where she continued to demonstrate her versatility by promoting international artists in various genres of music, including Southside Johnny, Michael Schenker and The Fixx. Subsequently, Hoffman partnered with Artists and Audience Entertainment, a prominent talent agency representing a roster of legendary clientele including Guns ‘n’ Roses, Paul McCartney and Nine Inch Nails. Her management and artistry contributed to many successful concert tour productions notably, her active involvement with Nine Inch Nails’ “Downward Spiral” tour with supporting acts, Marilyn Manson and Pop Will Eat Itself.
On the labor side of the entertainment industry, Hoffman was Director of Contracts and Contributions for I.A.T.S.E. National Benefit Funds, representing below-the-line personnel of film, television and theatre. Additionally, she served as Administrator for Symphonic Electronic Media for the American Federation of Musicians (AFM), negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements locally, nationally and internationally on behalf of symphony, opera and ballet musicians.
Hoffman has also worked for both the big and small screens as Director of Operations for Equilibrium Entertainment, a Los Angeles based post-production film company and Elias Associates, a leading bi-coastal music production company where she managed several departments including administration, finance, production, sales and marketing, and internet commerce, including the development of content, design and e-commerce for the corporation’s website. Currently, Hoffman manages the collection and distribution of royalties due to recording musicians for the Live Television/Videotape Supplemental Markets Fund (a subsidiary of the Film Musicians Secondary Markets Fund )while pursing her creative talents as a vocalist and voice-over artist.
